Display Comparison of Samsung S6, Nexus 6P and iPhone 6

In the year 2015, three amazing smartphones from top competitors were launched. These smartphones are Samsung Galaxy S6, Huawei Nexus 6P and Apple iPhone 6. Besides excellent features and great performance, they have something in common. All of these smartphones have wonderful display screens. According to experts, they have some of the best screens among smartphones in the market. Their screens offer excellent white balance, better brightness and higher contrast. However, they vary in size, resolution and other features. Read on for a display comparison for these phones.

Apple iPhone 6 and 6S

The screen size of iPhone 6 is 4.7 inches with 1334 x 750 resolution. It is great as the color accuracy is amazing. It displays the colors exactly as they are whether the user is watching a movie or flicking through his snaps. Moreover, no color shift takes place when the screen is tilted. Another good thing is its peak brightness that maxes out at 558 nits. The screen is also not relfective so even in the bright sunlight, the screen is viewable. The credit goes to Retina Technology by Apple. Retina is a trademark by Apple which refers to pixels per inch of the display and the viewing distance one would usually use. No matter how perfect vision one has, they will not be able to spot pixels on the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6S’s screen in normal use. Some critics say that iPhone 6’s screen pales when compared to other QHD displays but most disagree with that.

Google/Huawei Nexus 6P

Huawei’s Nexus 6P has a screen size of 5.7 inches with 2560 x 1440 resolution. The screen is a AMOLED panel with quad-HD resolution which makes it a very good screen. It is rich in accurate colors with nice inky blacks. The green shades in the Marshmallow’s stock wallpaper look more than good. Some people say that red, blue and orange colors pop out; however, they are accurately shown. The previous model–Nexus 6–had problems like poor viewing angles and whites which looked pink. The Nexus 6P screen’s viewing angles are excellent even in the outdoors. It’s Ambient Display is another advantage because of AMOLED panel. A brief white and black view of the time or current notification will pop up whenever the user picks up the phone or waves their hand over it. This feature is very handy if the phone is placed on the desk, and it does not consumes a lot of battery to light up the entire panel.

The type of screen is Super AMOLED which is cut above in every respect. It is more vibrant as compared to majority of LCD-screened phones. Full HD screens with 1080p look as sharp as Galaxy S6’s screen, but one will notice the difference when they looks at them from a little more distance. According to some users, the screen of Galaxy S6 is as good as iPhone 6. The black appears perfectly black as AMOLED screens do not have a backlight. As a result, the videos and pictures look exceptionally good. The punchier colors even outshine the iPhone 6. The screen works well in direct sunlight, and it works excellent indoors. The TouchWiz UI allows users to adjust display colors to fit according to their preferences. In addition to this, the AMOLED photo settings give excellent results without sacrificing vibrancy. Samsung Galaxy S6’s screen is perfect for sharing photos and videos as the screen looks great from every viewing angle.
